Dundee based Legal Services Scotland, the U.K.’s largest “Home Service” provider of Scottish wills has become the first company of it’s kind in the U.K. to obtain the prestigious Investors in People status. Coming up for their third anniversary, the company have rocketed to the forefront of the Will Writing and Estate Planning profession under the guidance of the two founding directors Scott Ettershank and Harry Falconer. With over 50 trained consultants throughout the country the companys rapid growth has been built on the solid foundations of investing in the development of their own staff. Apart from the recent Investors in People accolade, the company’s training was also recognized at the 2005 Tayside Business Awards. “You are only as good as the people around you and to build a successful business that will last you must invest time and quality training in your staff” says director Scott Ettershank. “This award reflects the value we place in our staff and our consultants” said Harry “Any good business relies on its staff and, in our case, our consultants to consistently provide our clients with the highest levels of service”. Harry said “We place staff and consultant training very high on our list of priorities and this is where IIP provides a structured framework for companies like ourselves to work within. They provided the framework, direction and support to our Office Manager which was invaluable” With a continuing and professional development programme in place, the company’s consultants are kept right up to date with all the relevant facts required to give clients best advice when it comes to making a will and helping them protect their assets. Recent rises in house prices mean more people than ever face an Inheritance Tax bill and this, along with protecting peoples homes from being taken to pay for Long Term Care fees are two of the biggest areas that the company now helps clients in. Other than the excellent training, the remarkable growth can also be put down to the “Home Visit Service” which many of our competitors fail to provide. One of the main reasons that so many people don’t have a will, is not because they don’t want one, it’s because they are too busy with “life” to get around to doing one! As all our consultants visit clients in the comfort of their own home, the clients largest hurdle is overcome.
